So as I'm sitting on the plane just a half hour or so away from ATL, I find myself heavily reminiscing. I just got to spend a month entrenched in the work of the King in the communities of Cielo, Nazaret, and Margarra. I'm stuck on a conversation I had with Nicole yesterday. We had just dedicated and furnished Franklin's house (he's the man I've talked about in previous blogs). Nicole was very moved by the experience, as was I. She made a very profound comment. She said, "We just united a family with bricks and mortar." I thought for a little while and then I said, "Just think, if God can use something as simple as bricks and mortar to reunite a family, imagine what He can do through us. We have so much more at our fingertips than Franklin or any other Dominican might ever have." I did not say that arrogantly or snootily. I simply said it, awestruck by the reality of it. We serve a God that can transform a community, beginning with one house that will act as a beacon of hope. So what's at our disposal and why aren't we using it to shine that same light for the King? This entire trip has been eye-opening in the sense that it has shown me that action is what walking with Christ is all about. If we act for the Kingdom, then God moves in big ways. I saw it this month. And I pray that I continue to act. That's where my heart is at the end of this trip: ready to act, utilizing everything God has provided for me.
I'm currently descending on flight #324 and anticipating touching down in the United States of America. I'll post this once I'm through customs! Thank you for all of your prayers and support this past month. I've never felt the Spirit of the LORD like I have over the last 4 weeks. God is good.
